Eric Donnenfeld, M.D. is a widely corneal specialist and one of the leading refractive surgeons in the United States. He is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and is one of the Clinical Investigators who assisted with gathering the safety and efficacy data for the Food and Drug Administration to review in order to approve the Excimer Laser for the correction of nearsightedness, fartsightedness and astigmatism. Dr. Donnenfeld graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree from Dartmouth College andf then received his Medical Degree from Dartmouth Medical School, graduating in the top five percent of his class. After completing his Ophthalmology Residency at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident, Dr. Donnenfeld completed a Fellowship in Corneal Diseases and Surgery at Wills Eye Hospital. Dr. Donnenfeld has been President of many professional societies including the Nassau Surgical Society, the Ophthalmology Division of the Nassau Academy of Medicine and the Ocular Microbiology Group. He has written over 100 papers and books on Refractive and Corneal Surgery and has lectured all over the world.
